2026-27 Primary Teacher (1.0 FTE)
Valley Christian School is a small K-8 school of approximately 150 students. We are family-oriented and the only Christian school in Mission, BC. We emphasize that each child is an important part of the body of Christ and encourage everyone to grow in their unique gifts and to use them for God’s glory.
We are looking for a teacher who is energetic and committed to Christian education to join our school family. We are now accepting applications to fill a full-time primary teaching position (1.0 FTE) for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be flexible and desire to collaborate in a team environment.
Applicants should be deeply committed to the Christian faith, with a strong dedication to Christian education. They demonstrate active involvement in a local Christian community and exhibit a mature Christian faith. Additionally, they are willing to sign the Community Standards policy of the school, reflecting their alignment with its values.
All applicants must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate. Teaching experience with the BC curriculum will be beneficial.
Salary range: $52,787 to $88,237

2026-27 Learning Support Services Coordinator (1.0 FTE)
Valley Christian School is K-8 independent school located in Mission, BC. We have approximately 150 students. We are currently accepting applications for a Learning Support Services Coordinator. This is a full-time position commencing August 27, 2026.
The Learning Support Services Coordinator (Inclusive Education & Learning Assistance) is responsible for the development of student learning plans and individualized education plans as well as determining the appropriate supports needed to meet student learning needs. The coordinator oversees the scheduling of the team of Education Assistants. The coordinator is supervised by the principal and collaborates with teachers and Educational Assistants in development and implementation of educational plans.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Education degree (or equivalent)
- Hold, or be eligible for, a valid BC Teaching Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
University course work in the following areas:
- Credentials in inclusive education
In addition, courses in the following areas are recommended:
- Meeting the needs of students with specific exceptions (i.e., Autism, developmental delays, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), etc.)
- Meeting the diverse behavioural needs in the classroom
- Computer technology for the classroom
- Non-violent de-escalation training
The applicant must:
- Be deeply committed to the Christian faith, with a strong dedication to Christian education
- Demonstrate active involvement in a local Christian community.
- Exhibit a mature Christian faith
- Be willing to sign the Community Standards policy of the school, reflecting their alignment with its values
- Practice strong collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Establish positive working relationships with school staff, community partners, families, and children
- Be able to confidently lead and support staff
- With colleagues, plan and maintain a learning environment that promotes the health, security, and well-being of children
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn
